Spiritual growth depends on you and not on God

Many at times we hear people complaining of their inability to grow spiritually, they begin to blame God of His decision not to help them. They feel God doesn't want to assist them and give them gifts, to grow.
I think i should come in here to let you know that nothing depends on God but everything depends on you. You wanna grow spiritually it is in your power and not in Gods'. The Bible repeatedly shows us places where God kept admonishing us to draw near, come closer to be the first to show the hand of friendship.

No man grows just by desire, there are processes and desire is the first stage of spiritual growth but it is not all. If you are willing to grow that's desire when you work towards it by doing other things (which i am going to talk about) you grow.

Many people say but they don't act. It's quite easier to talk and desire but harder to act on it.

Let's boil down to some of the few things we need to know about spiritual growth.

1. DESIRE
Desire is good but never enough. No man can just desire to be a billionaire or a graduate or a doctor and fold his arms. That will not produce what you desire, you will only keep on desiring.

2. ACTING
Now that we've got you to desire God and the things of God which is not an easy thing (trust me) because a lot of people these days hardly care about the things that makes God happy. And you desiring to grow is a thing of joy to Heaven. So now that you have desired, ACT!

3. PRAY
God in the book of Isaiah asks us to come and reason together with Him, this happens only in the place of prayer. This draws you closer and you Grow, you get fat in the spirit because it takes spirit to communicate with spirit. So God begins to see you as He sees Himself and that's some elevation in the realm of the spirit.

4. FAST
One of the things i am sure fasting does is eliminate the power of the flesh over you. You could still sin but then it's harder, fasting weakens the flesh which is the orchestrator of sin. When fasting takes place the flesh is unable to perform its activities. And that makes it easier for spiritual growth to take place in a man's life. Remember the wages (gain) of sin is Death, spiritual death.

5. PREACH THE GOSPEL
Oh, God loves soul winners. This should have been the first prerequisite but no the above ones are the ones for yourself because you cannot give what you don't have, you need to work on yourself first then you come out with the revelations you've got from your secret place with God you invite people into the world that you now enjoy. You share with them the great things that God has done in the past and in your life. The Bible says he who wins a soul is wise, he who saves a lost soul will shine as bright as the stars. So you see you grow by growing others. This is the fastest way to grow spiritually.

I have done all of these things, I did them then when I gave my life to Christ in 2015, I never looked back I was so much in love with God until some things happened (Will be shared in another post). And i can tell you that in less than a year I had got some gifts and it was unbelievable I started to have Words of Knowledge, The Gift of Healing, Prophesy; I was amazed then I realised that God worked with me according to my own pace.

When you love God nothing can stop you, you just always want to be in His presence and in the presence of other saints you love everything about God and what He has to offer. You don't mind preaching in the bus, preaching on the road, fasting for days, holding crusades.

Everything about God becomes your joy and your heart's cry. Nothing depends on God but everything depends on you; so if you are asking why some spiritual growth hasn't taken place in your life ask yourself what you are not doing.
